Airlie Beach

I had several warning signs before my arrival:

Nichola: There are A LOT of people who are sleeping around in Airlie.

Bus driver: The Ultimate party city! Party, party, party...!

As I went down the main road, I realised that they didnt excaggerate at all.
1 hour after arrival in Airlie Beach, half a rugby team tried to get in my pants.
The only thing I did? Pop my head out of my dorm room to get some fresh air. Literally!

Rugby dude: Do you have a boyfriend back home..?
Nancy: Yeah, I doo.
Rugby dude: Aaaaaaawww...
Nancy: Hehe...
Rugby dude: ... Do you want to hook up with me?
Nancy: ???
Rugby dude: How`s he gonna know?

Through this blog. Duh.

Nichola: Told you it was shag town.

Luckily, I`m escaping to the Whitsundays for a couple of days tomorrow! One of the things I`ll be doing is visiting Whitehaven Beach. which is considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Awesooooome...

There`s not much to do during the day, so I`m waiting on a lovely Irish girl I met on Magnetic Island. Maybe then the streets in the evening will be a little safe for me... See you later!

Magnetic Island

Horseshoe Bay

Notice that no one is in the water? That`s because you can DIE. That`s because of the stingers, which it is a high season right about now.
"Don`t swim you`ll die, don`t swim you`ll die, don`t swim you`ll die!!"

Even the ATM has retreated.

So what can you do on this calm island?

Hold animals. Duh.

Baba

Cockatoo "Shadow"

Cockatoo "Captain"

Dragon Beard lizard

Salt water crocodile

Aaaahh....

Rainbow Lorikeet

Don`t underestimate their claws

Barney!

Shell collecting. This is a lovely girl from Germany I have gotten to know on the island :)

Shell collecting, anyone?

There was cocnut bowling in the evening. I`m better at coconut bowling than normal bowling!

We (Vera) won a couple of beers.

Vera actually won the whole bowling contest by knckong down one cone!

Magnetic Island is great. Today we are going to do some hiking and try to spot some koalas in the wild.

 One more thing:

Have a good night everyone!

Bits and pieces

Cassowary at the wildlife sanctuary

Mangroves at Cape Tribulation (where the Great Barrier Reef meets the rainforest).

Big, big spider near the toilet at Cape Tribulation... Yes, there are more of them around.

Roadtrip with some Austrians. We went to Undara to watch the lava-tubes, and the Atherton Tablelands for some night-canoeing, platypus-spotting and rainforest activities. This is in front of our hostel i Cairns (Travellers Oasis).

A really big dog... Wow!

Bushwalking in Undara

Leading to a great lookout of the sunset :)

This was awesome! We got to swim in one of the lava-tubes. Every 3 years in 20 years, the lava-tubes get filled with enough water for us to swim in. We were in total darkness inside a lava-tube with little bats flying over us. Highlight!

Rock - Wallaby feeding

Yes, termites make that... :O

The Curtain Fig Tree. Do you see why it`s called by its name?

Barron Falls in the Tablelands. Awesome!

I had to leave these cool guys and am now currently on Magnetic Island. See you later!

Thap Cham!

This is new:

- We went to Thap Cham, a small city in the Ninh Thuan province to visit family on my mother`s side. It was AWESOME. I haven`t seen them for about 10 years, so it was quite exciting. We only got to stay there for 4 days. Come on, 4 days when you haven`t seen them for a decade? That`s ridiculous. Next time, I`m coming in for a month or two!
Ole Frederik: What the hell are they yelling about?
Nancy: Oh. Nothing major. Just food in general/how to eat a dish/What we are going to eat today/that we should eat more food...
Food. MmmMm...

- I forgot my camera (just googly-moogly pictures in this post)

 - We got up at 5 in the morning to go for a swim in the South China Sea as we watched the sun rise.

- We learned about the Champa-tribe as we visited the Poklongarai temple.

Breathtaking.

Apparantly,  I look like someone who comes from the Champa-tribe. At least that`s what the random dude said to me on the bus.

I really do wish I was from a Champa tribe, they are so beautiful. But the random dude also said that Ole Frederik and I looked like we were siblings. I didn`t even LOL, that`s just silly.

I totally gave him my e-mail, though.

Tomorrow, we head in to Saigon (or Ho Chi Minh City, if you like (but I like Saigon)) for a couple of days. The next time I blog, it will be in Australia!

PS: Sorry I`m not giving all of you the really cool blog about all of my travel experience concerning culture and touristy things, telling you from day to day what exciting things I`ve done and all. But the whole intention of this blog was to prove to you that I was alive. In other words, I can write stupid sentences and fool around.

I`m aliiiiiiiiiive!

Greetings puny people!

While you guys are doing such a boring thing as sleeping, we on the other hand, have been awake for some time now. Since the last time I updated my blog, we`ve managed to spend an evening with my family by celebrating new years. We`ve now entered the year of the cat, if anyone wondered...

Can you spot the blonde dude?

I`ve also managed to get lost in the woods that was in the middle of the Hong Kong airport.

And suddenly... Oh my God, Indiana Jones!!!

I asked if he would take picture with me, and he was like "Yeaaahh!!"

Yeeaahh!
Then I asked him if he wanted to follow me to Vietnam. Since he already had his passport ready. That dude is really up for anything. Because of his blonde hair, everyone in town is staring at him.
It`s ok, though.

He likes the attention.

:):):)

Another highlight was that my cousin bought a can of soda, but he didn`t like it.

Haha, just kidding. People are just carefree when it comes to putting garbage in the garbage cans. And I really like this picture.

Basically we are having the time of our lives, even though we haven`t caught much z`s during the last 48 hours. Hope everything`s ok at home, and that no one has commited murder or anything like that. Until next time!

Ps: I`ve eaten a turtle, and my cousin`s scooter does carry five people at once! If one of them is not actually sitting on it, that is. Yeah, some of us almost died that night.

And, by the way:

Happy New Year!

Ok, so this is what is going on...

I've been wandering around all day long, stressing and doing nothing. So everything was packed at the very last minute, and it got to the point where I was all like "Where's my wallet with my credit cards?"

This is a really shitty post, and I truly apologize. It's just that I have really poor internet service at the moment so my pictures are taking hours to download. In addition to that, I'm still really stressed And bored. So I'm sitting here in the middle of the night copying songs off CD's to my iPod. I'm literally panicking of the thought that I won't get the songs I want with me. Geeze... Talk about priorities.

Anyways, I hope you have a great time in Norway while I'm away. I'm going to miss all of you so much! <3
